ACURE SKINCARE

Hello Everyone!

Sorry it's been a while, but it has been CRAZY with tons and tons of school work/midterms.

As you know, I have been a religious user of Origins Skincare. But, I wanted to branch out and see what was available in the market that was more Organic. I heard good things about ACURE skincare and while I was at WholeFoods last week, I decided to give it a try.

I bought 2 things. An eye cream and a facial oil

1. The Eye Cream is called ACURE Chlorella+Edelweiss Stem Cell Eye Cream.
It comes in a 1oz and retails for $18.99. I personally think that is a pretty darn good price for an eye cream don't ya think?

This eye cream is unscented, so that is a given bonus. The consistency reminds me of a gel-like moisturizer. While putting it on, it may seem as though it might not be hydrating enough, but it most definitely is. I touched my under eye area a couple of hours later to find that the skin felt soft and supple. The packaging also is in a tube now. So don't worry about it getting contaminated. Overall, I think this is a good buy. And you couldn't get more organic/natural than this even if you wanted to. The ingredients are made up of good stuff like Goji berries/Acai Berries, etc.

2. The second item I bought was the Argan Oil. This also comes in a 1 oz  glass bottle, and has a little dropper. It retails for $14.99. So I have heard a number of things about Argan oil, but I had never tried it before. The Josie Maran oil is far to expensive in my mind, and this seemed like a perfect alternative. The smell is a little nutty, but goes away after applying it. The oil doesn't sit on top of the skin like Jojoba oil or Almond oil might. It just gets absorbed into the skin right away. This probably is an amazing oil for people with oily skins, and needless to say it works for drier skins. I would really recommend trying this out.

Overall, I am really happy with my purchases. This skincare brand can be found at Whole Foods and at  acureorganics.com (With free shipping :) ).

I am definitely looking forward to trying out more things from this line. Hope you enjoy!

REAL TECHNIQUES- Miracle Complexion Sponge

Hello Lovlies,

Hope your Sunday is going well. I just wanted to introduce a new product that will be in the market soon.

It is a new makeup sponge by Real Techniques. It is very similar to the Beauty Blender, but I have never tried one of those due to the steep price.

I am so excited to try this product, and from what I have hear the quality is excellent. You can order this now from the Real Techniques official website or from iherb.com for 6 dollars.

It has three sides to it. A flat edge, a pointy side and a curved edge. Overall, I think it will be a good buy. If anyone already has it let me know your thoughts!

Wonders with Browns

Hello all,

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Whenever I go shopping for eye shadows, I am always drawn towards the browns. I love a good neutral look. You can use browns to go for a smokey look or you could use them for an every day natural look. All upto you!

Here is a look that I wanted to  share with y'all. This eye makeup look can be work for a more dramatic day look or a night look.

First, I applied a shade called Queen Tiffany from Bare Minerals, all over the lid. Next, I used a shaded called Dark Chocolate for the crease. This is also from BE. In the inner corners of my eye, I used a highlight from BE called Queen Phyllis. To line my toplashes, I used Tarte's waterproof Amazonian Clay liner. For my bottom lashes/waterline I used BE's round the clock waterproof liner in the shade Midnight. For mascara I used  Origins Ginzing mascara.

This look is very easy to recreate. I hope you all enjoy! Leave me a comment below if you like it!

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer

Hello everyone!

Sorry I dropped off the radar for a while. I have been vacationing since June, so internet connection is hard to come by.

Origins released another product in their GinZing line. This time, it's a moisturizer!I ordered it when it first came out in April, and I have been loving it ever since I started using it.

It retails around $26.50 for 1.7oz. Good price considering their other moisturizers are about $13 more.  The consistency is very light, and gel-y like in texture and actually it is quite hydrating considering the fact that it is an oil-free moisturizer. This is perfect for the summer months in my opinion. The smell is slightly citrus-y but not overwhelming at all.

When applied, I think that my skin looks brighter instantly. A lot of people in my household have noticed that as well. So it really gives you that boost of energy, similar to what the eye -cream from the line does for tired-looking eyes.

I personally would not recommend this for older skins unless one has oily skin. I feel like mature skins would require something thicker. But, if you are looking for an everyday moisturizer which has no anti-aging properties whatsoever I would totally recommend this. My 15 year old sister uses it as well and she loves it. I have dry skin and she has oily skin so it works for all skin types. It absolutely does not leave a greasy residue when applied and in fact I think it absorbs completely into the skin, making you feel as though you have nothing on your skin.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Most definitely, you cannot go wrong with this moisturizer. I am looking forward to the Origins holiday kits so I can grab another one of these.

KORRES Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Foundation

Hello everybody!

I never use to believe in using liquid foundations! I think that I was led into believing that they include all sorts of harsh binders, etc. that clog up your pores. This probably is true of a lot of drugstore brands but I think many brands are starting to reformulate their foundations without some of the harsh chemicals. Since I have dry skin, I have been liking liquid foundations more and more. The latest one I have tried is from Korres. I love their products! Their lip butters and cheek butters are definitely been hits and they all smell sooooo good :). I was not really sure that I wanted to try this new foundation out since it says anti-aging. But, when the MUA tried it on me in Sephora, I was sold.  This foundation has a skin finish. It is not matte nor is it extremely dewy, but it looks like your skin but better. I found that it became a bit dewier on my skin as the day went by but I am loving it. I don't even feel like I am wearing foundation. The coverage is medium, and it definitely can be built up to be a more full coverage foundation. It is sold at Sephora stores and Sephora.com. There are about 8 shades to choose from and it is a .91 0z bottle that retails for $39. I particularly like the packaging. It comes in a glass bottle with a nice pump. I will definitely repurchase when this runs out. It is actually very hydrating because it is anti-aging I suppose. Over all I am happy and so is my skin :)

Enjoy and let me know if you pick this up!

Tarte Airblush Maracuja Blush- Shimmering Poppy

Hello Everyone!

Hope y'all are having a good weekend. I love,  I mean LOVE collecting new blushes. I recently added one to my huge collection from Tarte. Its a beautiful burnt rose color from their airblush collection called Shimmering Poppy. These are not powder blushes nor are they cream/gel. They have a bouncy texture to them. When applied it gives a slight powdery finish, but more natural than an actual powder blush. I recommend applying the color with a stippling brush so the color intensity can be built up. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. They have two other colors in the range-a peach color, and a bright pink color. Might try those out! This blush retails for $25 and can be found at Ulta, Tartecosmetics.com.

Let me know if you pick one up and like it!
